this County appointed to take into Consideration the building
a new House of Correction
on a Scale adapted to the Ground pur-
-chased of the Quakers, together with the Scite of the present House of
Correction and to prepare a plan of plans for that purpose will be
taken into Consideration on Thursday the 8th. of July next the County
day of the row next Session to be holden for the said County and that
in the mean time the said Report and plans will be in my Office
for the perusal and inspection of His Majestys Justices of the
peace acting in and for the said County

Moved that the Consideration of the said Plans
be referred back to the said Committee and that their Instructions
to the Architect for Improving the said plans may include Orders
for reducing the Quantity of Building which is too extensive
for the ground, for Arching the Ground and principal Stories
and leaving the Arches of the Ground Story open except where
necessary for the separation of the Prisoners the Security of the
Building or the Convenience of the Workshops which may be
placed therein for making Windows at each end of the passages
and as many in the Stair Cases and Wards as possible and
apertures over all the Doors with framed Iron Bars therein to
admit a Constant Circulation of fresh Air for altering the plans
so that each Class of Prisoners in the respective Buildings may
