Standing Order

The following Resolution come to at the last Session of the
"peace holden for this County standing for Confirmation being now Read Vizt.
"Whereas the Suitors of this Court are often much harrassed and put to great
"expence and inconvenience by means of Persons bound to appear here
"and answer or to prosecute their Traverses making default and not
"appearing according to their Recognizances (to which they are encouraged
"by the facility with which they afterwards get such Recognizance discharged
"whereby public Justice is fryquently greatly delayed and obstructed It is
"therefore hereby Ordered that no such Recognizance which already hath
"been or hereafter shall be ordered to be estreated into His Majestys Court
"of Exchequer shall be afterwards discharged without special Motion for
"that purpose in Open Court and due proof made upon Oath that notice in
"Writing of such Motion has been given to the Prosecutor or left for him at
"his usual or last Known Dwelling on Place of abode previous to such
"application together with a true Copy of the Affidavit or Affidavits intended
"to be read in Court on such Motion "A Motion. was made that the
same be Confirmed and the Question being unanimously agreed Etc.
It is Ordered that the said Resolution be a standing Order of this Court

"Recommended that no Order of General on General Quarter Session for
"granting a Lease of the Lands or Tenements belonging to this County or for
"the purchase of any Lands or Tenements or any Motion for that purpose be
"made unless twenty Justices or more be present nor any such Order be
"made unless One Months notice has been given in one of the Daily
"Newspapers that such Business is intended to be brought before the
"Court And it is hereby declared that fifteen Justices are a competent
"Number for transacting and ordering any other County Business on the
