Middlesex

At the General Session of the Peace of
our Lord the King holden in and for the
County of Middlesex at Hicks Hall in
Saint John Street by adjournment on
Thursday the 12th. day September 1782

It being represented to this Court that the Debtors still continue
to be confined by the Sheriff of this County in the House of Correction
at Clerkenwell and therefore there is no room or Opportunity for
employing the Prisoners therein Hard Labour It is Ordered
that the Order of Court made at the Session of the peace holden for
this County in the month of January last in respect to the allowa [..]
of Onepenny halfpenny to each Prisoner in the house of Correction
during the time only hear she performs hard labour and which
Order was suspended at the last Session be and the same is hereby
further suspended until the County day of the next Session of the
Peace to be holden in and for the said County

By adjournment same day

It being represented to this Court that the House which was taken
by order of Court for the accommodation of the Military Guard that do
duty at the Prisons has been very much injured and damaged by the
Soldiers or others and that the damages ought forthwith [..]
It is Ordered that the said House be forthwith repaired under the
direction of The Reverend Sir George Booth< no role > Baronet Jacob Leroux< no role >
and Joseph Faikney< no role > Esquires three of his Majestys Justices of the
peace for this County and that when the said Repairs shall be
completed an account of the Expence thereof be delivered to the Clerk
of the Peace in order to its being included in the General Account
of those Expences incurred by the County for defraying which applica [..]
is intended to be made to Government and it is also Referred to the
said Gentlemen and they are hereby Empowered to terminate the
Agreement respecting the said House
