read a letter from Mr. Benson by which it Appeared Mr. Benson was [..]
ill to attend this Court and that he would soon lay a compleat state of the
affairs before the Court and inclosing a list of the names of the Chief
Constables in Arrear together with an Account of Money still due on the
former Rate Whereupon it is ordered that the order of the day be Enlarged
to the first day of the next Session and that the Clerk of the peace do acqui [..]
Mr. Benson therewith

Ordered that the Clerk of the peace do transmit to each High Constable
in Arrear a Copy of the Order of Court made in respect to them on the County
day of the last Sessions

April Session 1774

It is ordered that the Consideration of the Ways and means of raising a
sufficient Sum of Money for the repair of Hicks Hall be and the same is
hereby postponed unto the County day of the next General Sessions

At this Court that part of the report of the Committee appointed to co [..]
into immediate Execution the Effectual repair of New prison and Clerkenwell
Bridewell concerning the claim of right to the Boundary Wall of New
prison and the accepting and carrying into Execution the proposals made
by Mr. Nightingale with respect to the same which was agreed to on the
County day of the last Session [..] And pursuant to the standing order in
such Casehereby ratified andought to be Confirmed being now read It is ordered that such part of the paid report and the said Committee are
as aforesaid be Confirmed and the same is hereby rantied & Confirmed accordingly
hereby further empowered and desired to proceed in the execution of the
several matters referred to them

It is ordered that the consideration of the legality of the public
performance of Music at New Tunbridge Wells which stood adjourned
at the last Session be and the same is hereby further adjourned to the
County day of the next Sessions

Mr. John Benson< no role > the County Treasurer having in pursuance
of an order made at the last Session produced to this Court an Account
of his Receipts and disbursements as Treasurer of this County It is ordered
that it be and it is hereby recommended and referred to John Barnfather< no role >
Benjamin Cowley< no role > and John Walford< no role > Esqrs. and such other of his Majesty's
Justices of the peace of this County as will be pleased to be present or any two
of them as a Committee to meet together at Hicks Hall aforesaid on this
present Thursday to inspect and Audit the said Account of Mr. Johns
Bensons touching the Money by him received as Treasurer of this County a
of his Disbursements out of the same and also to inspect his Accounts
