It appearing to this Court by the Report of the Committee
appointed the 14th. day of April Inst. to examine the Accounts of the
Treasurer of this County that whole of the late rate of £2000 is
expended and that there appears due to the said Treasurer upon
the face of His Accounts the sum of £168..3..4 besides many other
demands on the County not yet satisfied It is Ordered that the
Sum of £3000 be immediately Raised on the County according to
the Act of the 12th. of the late King George the Second

It is ordered that the Clerk of the Peace do procure the
Statutes of the last Sessions of Parliament for the use of this Court

It is ordered that the Clerk of the Peace do against the next
Session of the Peace to be holden for this County procure proper Barrs
to be placed at the Doors of this Court to prevent the access of the mob

It appearing to this Court by the Report of William Drinkwater< no role >
that it is necessary to make some trifling Repairs to Brentford Bridge
It is ordered that Mr. Drinkwater be and he is hereby desired to
employ proper Workmen to make such necessary repairs to the said
Bridge as may to him seens needful.

[mark] Here follows a Copy of the Letter as settled by the Chairman
and sent by the Clerk of the Peace to Bolton Manwaring< no role > Esquire
pursuant to the above order of Court

Sir

I am ordered by the Court of Quarter Session to inform you
that on the County day of last Session a Paper was produced by the
Chairman purporting to be an account of Monies laid out in several
County works done under your Direction and a Charge of five
per Cent thereon amounting to upwards of two Hundred pounds
in the said paper said to have been owing to you ever since the
Year 1767 and that the same paper was then taken into Consideration
When the Justices not being able to find by any order or minute in the
Books of the Court nor to recollect that you were ever employed by
them in the Capacity of a Surveyor but on the Contrary conceiving that
the Services You have done the County were voluntary and in every
sence of the word dissinterested were of Opinion not to allow Your
Demand
