His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County of Middx
assembled at this present Quarter Quarter Session of the Peace holden for
the same County Do elect Nominate and appoint William Jones< no role > of the
of the Parish of St. James Clerkenwell in the County of Middx Gent . to be
Governor and Keeper of the House of Correction at Clerkenwell in the said
County in the Place and Stead of Henry Walbank< no role > deceased late Governor
and Keeper of the said House of Correction To have hold execute and
enjoy the said office or Employment of Governor or Keeper of the said House
of Correction together with all fees Perquisites Allowances Payments
Profitts Comodities & Emohments to the said Office or Employment belonging
or appertaining during the Pleasure of the Justices of the Peace for the said
County in their General Quarter or General Sessions of the Peace for the Same
County assembled or to be Assembled or the major part of them only and no longer
Upon Condition that he the said William Jones< no role > do during the time the
shall continue Governor and Keeper of the Said House of Correction ) keep his
constant Residence there and well demean himself in the said Office or
Employment and Excecute the Same in his own Person and not by Deputy
And also that he the said William Jones< no role > his Executors or Administrators do
do and shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid into the Sheriff of the Said
County for the time being or his Order for the Use of his now Majesty King Geo:
the third his Heirs and Successors All such Sum and Sums of Money as have
been or shall be imposed and set for any Fine or Fines by any of the Justices of
the Peace for the Said County assembled at any of their General or General Quarter
Sessions of the Peace holden or to be holden within the said County on any
Prisoner or Prisoners committed or to be committed to the Custody of the said
William Jones< no role > as Keeper Governor of the Said House of Correction for any
Offence or Offences by them committed and which shall or without his or their
wilful Default may at any time or times be received by him or his Servant or
Servants during Such time as the said William Jones< no role > shall continue
Governor or Keeper of the said House of Correction And Also that he the said
Wm Jones< no role > his Extors or Admtors do and shall likewise well and truly Accompt
and Pay or Cause to be paid into the Clerk of the Peace of the said county for the
time being Or his Deputy all such Fees as the Said Wm. Jones< no role > or his resptive
Servantor Servants shall or without his or their wilful default may during
the time he shall continue Governor or Keeper of the Said House of Correction
receive for the Use of such Clerk of the Peace of any Prisoner or Prisoners
committed or to be committed to the said House of Correction And also allow
unto the Matron o the said House of Correction for the time being the
Apartment therein formerly and now allowed to the Matrons thereof
