By adjornment on Thursday the 7th Day of July 1748 .

Order of Recommendation
to Justices of the Peace in
their respective Divisions
not to grant Licenses to
Persons keeping Publick
Houses who have Skittle
Grounds or Nine pin
Alleys.}

It is Ordered by this Court that it be And It is hereby
recommended unto his Majesty< no role > 's Justices of the Peace residing
in the respective Divisions in this County Not to grant Licenses
to any Persons keeping Publick Houses who Shall have any
Skittle Grounds or Nine Pin Alleys, or Suffer Persons to play in the Said
Grounds or Alleys, This Court being of Opinion that it is a
breach of the Recognizances by them entred into on being
licensed to Sell Beer Ale and other Liquors by retail.

By Adjornment on Wednesday the 20th. of July 1748.

Order for Mr. Higgs Trearer
of Middx to pay £20. to Mr.
James Wilder< no role > Clerk to the
Justices of the Peace
appointed to take care of
the distempered Cattle in
Middx.}

A Bill of Mr. James Wilder< no role > Clerk to the Justices of the Peace
appointed to take Care of the distempered Cattle in this County
for his Attendances upon the Said Justices and his trouble &
Disbursments in relation to the Premisses being laid before
this Court amounting to the Sum of £39.1s.11d. And the Items
of the Said Bill having been referred to the Consideration
of a Committee of his Majesty< no role > 's Justices of the Peace who
upon their inspecting the Same were of opinion that Some
Matters therein were over charged and that the Sum of three
Pounds and three Shillings in respect thereof ought to be
abated and taken off from the Said Bill, which Sum being
deducted thereout, the Said Committee are of opinion that the
Sum of thirty five Pounds eighteen Shillings and eleven Pence
only ought to be paid to the Said James Wilder< no role > as remaining
due to him upon his Said Bill, who desiring that this Court
will please to Order Some part thereof to be paid to him, It is
Ordered by this Court that Mr. John Higgs< no role > Treasurer of this
County do pay unto the Said James Wilder< no role > the Sum of twenty
Pounds in part of the Moneys remaining due to him (after
Such Deduction as aforesaid) upon his Said Bill, And that
his Receipt together with this Order Shall be a Sufficient
Discharge to the Said Treasurer for Such payment.
