of the Court for his great
Services done to this County
in the Administration of
Justice}

His Maties Justices of the peace for the County of Middx now
assembled at this present General Sessions of the peace holden
for the Said County Doe Order that the thanks of this Court be
and they are hereby given unto Thomas Lane< no role > Esqr . Chairman
of this Court for the great Services by him done to this County
in the publick administration of Justice.

Order for electing Edward
Barker Esqr . to be Chairman
of the Sessions in the Stead
& place of Tho: Lane< no role > Esqr .}

His Maties Justices of the peace for the County of Middx now
assembled at this present General Sessions of the peace holden
for the Said County Doe elect Edward Barker< no role > Esqr . to be Chairman
of the General Quarter and General Sessions of the peace to be
holden for the Said County between Michmas One thousand
Seven hundred and thirty four and Lady day then next following
in the Stead & place of Thomas Lane< no role > Esqr . the present Chairman.

Order of Recommendation
to the Justices in each Division
not to nominate or return
for high Constable any person
who is a Dealer in Wine}

Upon Debate and consideration of a matter (which Stands
adjourned to this day) whether any persons besides those who are
Dealers in brandy, beer, ale, Strong waters or other distilled
liquors are unfit & improper to be high Constables in this County
This Court for the reasons alledged in the Debate are of opinion
And it is accordingly Ordered That it be And It is hereby
recomended to the Justices in each Division that they do not for
the future nominate or return in their Severall Divisions for
high Constable to be elected and appointed by this Court any
person who is a Dealer in wine by wholesale or retale.

Order for admitting Wm.
Ellis Constable of Southmims
into the Service of passing
and releiving of Vagrants}

Upon the humble Petition of William Ellis< no role > Constable of Southmims
in this County praying that he may be appointed Vagrant passer
in the Stead of William Martin< no role > late Constable and Vagrant passer
upon the Same terms, And upon the recommendation of Richard
Hassell and Henorat Smith< no role > Esqrs . two of his Maties Justices of the
peace for this County residing in or neare the parish of
Southmims aforesaid, It is Ordered by this Court that the Said
William Ellis< no role > be and he is hereby admitted into the Service of
releiving, passing and conveying of Vagrants in & through this
County for the year ensueing (unless the Court of General or
Quarter Sessions of the peace for the Said County Shall hereafter
Order to the contrary) in the Stead & place of the Said William Martin< no role >
at the like Salary of thirty pounds (which was allowed to the Said
William Martin< no role > for the like Service) to be allowed to the Said William
Ellis for his trouble & expences in passing & releiving of
Vagrants, he duely performing the Said Service, which
