Order touching the
appointing of New
High Constables }

Whereas according to the tenor of an Order made at the
Generall Quarter Sessions of the Peace holden for this County
by adjornment on Thursday the Fifteenth day of January one
thousand seven hundred and eighteen no high Constable in this
County ought to Continue in his Office above the space of Three
Yeares, It is Ordered by this Court that it be And It is
hereby recommended and referred unto his Majestyes Justices
of the Peace of this County in their respective Divisions and
Hundreds in the said County to examine what high Constable
or high Constables therein have Continued in their respective
Offices for the space of Three Yeares or upwards, And if
it shall appear to them that any High Constable hath
continued in his Office for the space of Three Yeares or
upwards Then to Nominate and to Transmitt to the
Court of the next Generall Quarter Sessions of the
Peace for this County at Hicks hall on Thursday the
Eighth day of Aprill next at Ten of the Clock in the
Forenoon the Name or Names of such Person or Persons
as the said Justices in their respective Divisions and
Hundreds shall think fit to be high Constable or
high Constables in the room of such who have Served
such Office for the space of Three Yeares or upwards,
To the Intent that the Court may then appoint proper
high Constables in their stead, And Notice of the time
and place of meeting in each Division and Hundred
in this County touching the Premisses aforesaid is to be
given to all the Justices of the Peace resideing therein,

A coppy of this Order was sent to the Justices of
peace in Kensington Division,

Another coppy to the Justices in Edmonton
Division,

Another coppy to the Justices in New Brentford
Division,

Another coppy to the Justices in Uxbridge
Division,
