John Rawlins< no role > & Benjn. Eggers< no role >

John Rawlins< no role > of Camomile Street London Smith and Benjamin
Eggers a Native of the Free Imperial City of Bremen in
Germany but now of Goodmans Yard Goodmans fields
in the County of Middlesex Smith severally make Oath & say
and first this Deponent John Rawlins< no role > for himself saith
that he was unfortunately deluded into the Conspiracy of
which he stands Convicted under an idea that the
Journeymen Smiths ought not to work longer in a day
than Journeymen of less laborious Trades such as
Carpenters Joiners Bricklayers, Stone Mansons Etc. who work
no more than 12 hours in a day and this Deponent
further saith that immediately after his Conviction (being
convinced of his Error) he discontinued going to the
society of Journeymen Smiths (which was then
existing) and never afterwds. went to the same but has
totally done therewith and this Deponent further saith
that soon after his Conviction he waited on Aaron Hale< no role >
(his prosecutor) and told him he this Deponent was
sorry for his Error and was willing to work the usual
time from 6 oClock in the Morning till 7 in the Evening
and this Depot. asked the sd. Aaron Hale< no role > to employ him
and the sd. Aaron Hale< no role > told this Depot. that he was
slack of work & did not want a man & therefore could
not employ this Depot. & that this Deponent might as
well work where he then did as he (this Deponent)
worked till 7 oClock in the Evening which he has done
ever since his Conviction And this Deponent Benjamin
Eggers for himself saith that on the instituting the
Journeyn.
