Perjury

Peter Reynolds< no role > Clerk to James Collins< no role > of
Spital Square in the County of Middlesex
Sollicitor for above Defendant maketh oath and saith
that he did on the Second day of September
instant serve the above named Nehemiah Reed< no role >
with a Copy of the Notice hereto annexed by
delivering the same to the Servant of the said
Nehemiah Reed< no role > at his house at Stockwell
and this deponent further saith that on or about
the fourth day of September instant James Mc George< no role >
Clerk to Mr. Thomas James< no role > of Stamford Street
Blackfriars who acts as Sollicitor for the prosecution
in this Cause served the above named James
Collins
< no role > with a Notice purporting that this
honourable Court would be moved on Wednesday
the Ninth day of September instant that the Trial
of the abovenamedIndictment might be put off
untill the next Sessions on Account of the absence
of a Material Witness and deponent further saith
that at the time the said James Mc George
served the said Notice he was asked who the
Witness was that was absent to which he
answered he could not tell and this deponent
further saith that several times since he
enquired of the said James Mc George who the witness was that was absent who said
he could not tell and this deponent saith
