The Information of John Ward< no role > and William Bailey< no role > of the Parish of
Saint Botolph Bishopsgate London taken and made on
Oath beforemeus David Wilmot< no role > and Rice Davies< no role > Esquires twoOneof his
Majestys Justices of the Peace for the County of Middlesex
the seventh day of February 1783.

WhoThis Informant William Bailey< no role > on his Oath Saith That on the 25th. day of December last
between five and Six O' Clock in the Evening he was standing at his
Masters door No 159 in Bishopsgate street , when two men came up
to him to the door and asked him if Molly Homewood< no role > was at home
to which this Informant Answered no she was not, but that she was
gone to her fathers, One of the men said that they had a Bundle for her
which came from her brother at Portsmouth and desired this Informant
to go into the house with them, when this Informant was in the house
with the two men and going to open the Handkerchief one of the men
ifSnatched the handkerchief from him and said to the other will you
go up Stairs or shall I go up, And this Informant Saith that
Edward Muzred< no role > otherwise Muslin now under Examination
is the person who made Answer that he would go up Stairs and
accordingly did go up and that about Two or three Minutes afterwards
the other person who was below stairs took this Informant by the
Collar and pushed him into the Cole hole and fastned the Cole hole
door with a Button and a Gimlet and when he thought they was gone
he got out thereof by means of a Drawer, and found the street door
open and suspecting the house to have been Robbed he acquainted the
neighbours of what had happened.

And this Informant John Ward< no role > Saith that his said House in
Bishopsgate street was Robbed on the Twenty fifth day of December
last of fourteen Guineas and upwards, Twenty Yards of Irish
Linnen Cloth, One Silver Table spoon, Eight silver Tea spoons
One silver Cream mug two Salt spoons and a Pair of Tea Tongs
OnePlacGold Ring and one pair of Plated Shoe Buckles and other
things his property
