Wooldridge Esquire one of the Aldermen of the
City of London
WhoSaith that on Wednesday the twenty ninth day of August
last a Person came to the shop of the said Messrs. Davis [..]
Newman in Fenchurch Street
aforesaid who called himself
the Reverend Mr Lloyd and ordered sundry Grocery Goods which
amounted to the Sum of Eight Pounds sixteen shillings and
two Pence which he desired might to sent to his Lodging
in Maiden Lane Covent Garden
and that he would pay for
them [..] the next day or the day following which Goods
were accordingly sent to the Lodgings of the said Mr Lloyd directed
to the Reverend Mr Lloyd according to the address given by the
said Lloyd in writing for that purpose. saith that soon after
the said Goods were delivered this Informant being informed
that the said Lloyd was a Person of suspicions Character and
that the Goods he had obtained were to be carried of that Night
andin consequence of such Information the said Lloyd was
apprehended by the said Messrs. Davison and Newman And this
Informant further saith that he verily believes the said Lloyd
is not a Clergiman and that he obtained the said Goods with
intent to defraud the said Messrs Davison and Newman of the same
