one of the Aldermen of the said City
upon Oath this 12th June 1780

The said Andrew [..] Williamson< no role >
[..] sayth that on Wednesday
last the 7th. of June inst. abt. the Hour of 3 in the Morning
as [..] Esquire was upon Duty as a Centinell at the Poultry
Compter [..] Samuel Thomas Charles the
Prisoner with a blue [..] in that advanced towds. [..] with a Bar of Iron
in the Hand when he ordered him to to
[..] his Bayonet , He then offered
to Strike this Examinant over the Head
with the sd Bar of Iron which he warded
off & knocked down the Prisoner
with the Buttend of his Gun, He then took
him into the back part of the Entry into
the Poultry Compter, and this Examinant
Saith that there were upwards of Two hundred Persons
assembled together in a [..] Tumultons
Manner with the Prisoner about the
Compter; & that the Prisoner was the
second Man that came up to thePoultry
Compter at the Head of the said Mob, and
that the Mupon this Informant &
the rest of his Comrades not [..]
off then Bayonets they threw Mud
&DeptStones at them that the [..] Prisoner
[..] was the Worse for Liquor
& this Examinant Saith
