The Information of James Hayward< no role > taken before me
this 18th. day of February 1774 .

Who being upon Oath says he knows William Hurley< no role > late a Servant to Mr
Gearing of Caple Court in the City of London Says that said Hurley told
him he had Quarrelled with his Master, did not intend to Stay with him
and then proposed to [..] his masters house, Says that on Saturday the 15th.
of Janry. last the said Hurley came to this Informants house in Long Alley
asked this Informant if he had any Chizzles or Keys this Informant
answered no that said Hurley then blew up the Forge fire and this Informant
and said Hurley made a Chizzle Says next day this Informant went to the
house of said Mr. Gearing where he found said Hurley Says that Hurley
and this Informant there broke open several Drawers took out a Quantity
of plate Linen & other Goods which this Informant carried to this own house
Says that about afortnight after the said Hurley came to this Informants
house where said Hurley, Ann Morris< no role > , & this Informant melted the Plate
viz Hurley & Morris melted it into Bits, and this Informant afterwards into
one Lump Says he this Informant received 16 Guineas & half for the said Plate.
11 of which he gave to said Morris for the use of said Hurley. Says he
also had some of the Shirts taken out of said Mr. Gearings house Says that
said Hurley last week proposed to this Informant to Rob Mr. Gearing's house
in the Country, says that a Jew in Petticoat Lane whose Name this Informant
does not know bought the said Silver from this Informant and that
one William Hurley< no role > a Milkman had a Guinea for recommending the
said Jew to this Informant, says that about 2 Months ago he bought an
Anvil from one George & some time before another Anvil from the Same person
that last Saturday he bought two Grates & a Copper from Charles Farthing< no role > and the
said George, that about five Months ago he bought a Table Clock
from one James Bedell< no role > who is now in Newgate that he bought a
Punch bowl now produced from the said George about 2 or 3 Months
ago,
