John Lacey< no role > Servant to Messrs. Sutton and Frampton of Leadenhall
Street London Grocers maketh Oath and Saith that in the Month of September One thousand
Seven hundred and Seventy One he was bound to Prosecute in the October Session
then following Samuel Samuel< no role > for Feloniously stealing a Quantity of Tea
the Property of the said Messrs. Sutton and Frampton [..]
[..] with whom he lived Servant and this Deponent Saith that his said
Masters afterwards having appointed this Deponent to perform a Journey for
them as their Rider into the Counties of Northampton Leicester Derby
Nottingham York and Lincoln in the said Business he set off on or about
the first of October One thousand Seven hundred and Seventy One and did not
return to London till the Fourth of November then next following and this
Deponent further saith that in his Hurry to prepare for his said Journey he
entirely forget his being bound to Prosecute the said Samuel, Samueland that
before his above the said Samuel Samuel< no role >
and that before his return the said
Samuel Samuel< no role > was discharged for want of Prosecution and this Deponent saith
that he hath been informed and which Information he verily believes to be true that the
said Samuel Samuel< no role > was afterwards in April Session last tried and Convicted
of a Felony and Ordered to be transported And lastlyhisthis Deponent saith
that he did not neglect to Prosecute the said Samuel Samuel< no role > through any favour
or Affection towards the said Samuel Samuel< no role > or for any Reward or hope or
Promise thereof.
