Charge of feloniously
uttering and publishing
a Certain false forged and
Counterfeit Deed Etc

Thomas Goswell< no role > of London the Deft: is this Cause and
Edward Bell< no role > of the same Gentleman severally make oath and
say And first the said Thomas Goswell< no role > for himself saith that he
hath been and sent to the house of Robert Clarke< no role > where he lived
near Saint Martins Church Ludgate who is a subscribing Witness
to the Letter of Attorney in Question and is a material Witness
for this Deponent and without whose Testimony this Dept: is
advised he cannot safely proceed to tryal in this Cause and
he being gone from his house this Deponent hath used his utmost
Endeavours to find out the said Robert Clarke< no role > but this Deponent
hath not yet been able so to does or the place of his abode the said
Robert Clarke< no role > at present absconding altho' this Deponent saith
that he is credibly Informed the said Robert Clarke< no role > hath been
lately seen in and about London And this Dept. further saith
that the said Robert Clarke< no role > is also a subscribing Witness together
with William Barlow< no role > to a Receipt signed with the hand and Mark
of Susannah Richardson< no role > for fifteen Guineas received by her of
this Deponent towards what hath been advanced upon her
Administration to Robert Williamson< no role > for his Wages on board
the Triton and Sunderland which said Receipt appears to be dated
the fourth day of March one thousand seven hundred and sixty
one and the said Robert Clarke< no role > is also a subscribing Witness to
a Bill drawn by the said Susanna Richardson< no role > upon this Dept
payable to William Barlow< no role > and place the same to her Account
and which Bill this Deponent also paid and took the said
William Barlows< no role > Receipt upon the said Bill so drawn by the
said Susanna Richardson< no role > upon this Dept. and this Dept.
verily beleives that he shall be able to procure the said Robert
Clarke
< no role > to be served with a Subpena to Attend to give Evidence
at the next Ensuing Sessions together with other material
Evidence in behalf of this Deponent And the Deponent
Edward Bell< no role > for himself saith that he hath made
diligent Inquiry after the said Robert Clarke< no role > at his late
dwelling house near Saint Martins Church Ludgate and
