in the above Cause was at the last Session holden for the
City of London
Indicted for feloniously uttering and Publishing as true a Forged Bill of
Exchange with the Name Richd. Hall< no role >
Subscribed thereto knowing it to be forged with
intent to Defraud him this Deponent And That William Hall< no role >
of Caxton
in the County of
Cambridge
Father to the said Richard Hall< no role >
is a Material Witness for him this Deponent in
the above Cause to prove that the Name Richd. Hall Wrote upon the said Bill of Exchange is
not of his said Sons hand Writing. And without the Testimony of the said William Hall< no role >

Deponent Cannot with any Safety Proceed to the Tryal of the said Cause. And this Deponent
also Saith that the said William Hall< no role >
Attended the preferring the Indictment at the last
Session and was Sworn as Witness thereon and faithfully promised this Deponent that
he would come to Town and Attend to give his Evidence at, the Trial at the ensing session
which this Deponent intirely relyed upon for his so doing And Lastly this Deponent
Saith that he hath been informed by one George Harvey< no role >

that the

was on Monday Night last very ill of a Cold and so infirm
and Weak that he could not Possibly Attend this court at this Session to give his Evidence
on the Tryal of the sd. Cause all which this Deponent verily believes to be true
