Indicted for High Treason on the tenth of November
one thousand Seven hundred and Forty Five at the
Sessions holden by his Majesties Special Commission at
Saint Margarets Hill
in the Borough of Southwark
in
the County of Surry
for the Trial of the Rebells in the last
Rebellion and that before the said John Betts< no role >
was
Arraigned upon the said Indictment he broke out of
Now Prison and made his Escape and has not since
been Arraigned upon the said Indictment And this
Deponent further Saith that since the said John Betts< no role >
was
taken into Custody and Committed to Newgate by Sir
Thomas Robinson< no role >
one of his Majesties Principal Secretaries
of State the said John Sharpe< no role >
has received Directions from
the Lords of the Regency to prosecute the said John Betts< no role >
upon the said Indictment for High Treason And this Depont.
further Saith that Mr. Chambers Vernon< no role >
the Clerk
under the
said Commission is dead and that no Certificate can be had
of the said Indictment being found, but this Deponent Saith
that the Paper Writing Marked with the Letter A, Purporting
