To the Right Honorable the Lord
Mayor and the Right Worshipfull the other
his Majestys Justices of the Peace for the
City of London and the Libertys thereof

The Appeal of the Churchwardens & Overseers of
the Parish of St. Michael at Queenhithe London

Sheweth


That on Complaint made the 15th day of Febry 1743. to Sir Wm. Billers< no role >
Knight and George Arnold< no role > Esqr . two of his Majestys Justices of the Peace for the
said City and the Libertys thereof one being of the Quorum by the Churchwardens &
Overseers of the Parish of St. Dunstan in the East London that Mary Myers< no role > Widow
of David Myers< no role > deceased were then lately come to reside in their said Parish not having
obtained any legal settlement there and were likely to become chargeable thereto
unless timely prevented which Complaint the said Justices did Judge to be true and for as much
as it appeared to them by the Oath of the said Mary Myers< no role > that about one and twenty
Years ago the said Mary Myers< no role > 's said Husband David Myers< no role > rented a House in the said
Parish of St. Michael at Queenhithe London of the Value of £10 a Year & lived in
the same for several Years and no other Subsequent Settlement appearing unto them
they the said Justices did adjudge the last legal Settlement of the said Mary Myers< no role >
to be in the said Parish of Saint Michael at Queenhithe London and by Warrant under
their Hands and Seals bearing date the said 15th day of Febry 1749 did Cause the said
Mary Myers< no role > to be removed out of the said Parish of St. Dunstan in the East into the said
Parish of Saint Michael at Queenhithe as her last legal Settlement

That the Churchwardens and Overseers of the said Parish of Saint Michael at
Queenhithe are advised
that the said Parish of Saint Michael at Queenhithe is not the place of the last
Legal Settlement of the said Mary Myers< no role >

And therefore the Churchwardens & Overseers of the said Parish
of Saint Michael at Queenhithe do Appeal against the said Order so
made as aforesaid for the removeal of the said Mary Myers< no role > into the
said Parish of Saint Michael Queenhithe and pray to be reimbursed
the Costs they have been at on Account of providing for the said Mary
Myers since her said removeal together with the Costs sustained by them
the said Churchwardens and Overseers of the said Parish of Saint
Michael
