butnotnot so clear as to take out all the Letters part of
in remaining visible This Inft. Apprehending and
Suspecting the said Noat to be a False a Coun
terfeit Noat He sent one Wallis who Keeps
ye. aforesaid Coffee house to Mr. Smith to New
gate to Enquire of her what dealings she ever
had with the said Bartlett And to know
whether she gave the said Bartlett ye said Noat
And upon Wallis return he acquainted this Inft.
That Mrs Smith had Sold him that she had not
given the said Bartlett ye said Noat nor any
other nor was the any ways Indebted to him or
had any dealings with him but once to enter
up a Judgmt. for which she paid him & took his
Receipt for the same And if any Noat under her hand payaba.
to Bartlett was produced It was a Forged one
This Inft. than Asked the sd. Bartlett what dealings
he had had with the said Elizabeth Smith< no role > to wch
he replyed that he had none but entring a
Judgmt. saying also what was that to the
Purpose Give me my Noat again: To which
this Inft. said As he had before that he would not
part with it out of his hands till [..] He of
Informt. produced it in Court At which he the sd.
Bartlett seemed very uneasy And desired this
Informt. to return the Noat to him and He Wd,
either tare it or burn it before this Informt.
face or to do it himself This Informt. further
saith On Oath That from the Raysires and
for the Reasons abovementioned he verily
Believes the said Noat is a Forged or Coun
terfeit Noat And further Saith not
