Whereas Complaint was this day made by
ye. Churchwardens & Overseers of the Poore
of the Pish of St. Buttolph Bishopsgate
in
ye. City of London
unto us two of Their Majties.
Justices of ye. Peace
for the sd. City & Libtyes,
Whereof one is of the Quor, that A now born
female Child was on the 3d. of this instant
May brought into their Parish an And is likely
to become A Charge to the said Pish; And
forasmuch as the Father & Mothers of the sd.
Child are unknown, & that it appears unto
upon the Oath of

of St. Leonard Shorditch
in ye. County of Middx.

that the said Child was first found
laid in an hand baskett in the Pish of St Buttolph
Aldgate
London without the Gate in Devonshire
Square
which divideth the Bounds of the sd.
two parishes on that side towards St. Buttolph

to remove pass & convey the said Child out of
your said Pish of St. Buttolph Bishopsgae

wee do hereby require to receive & pvide for
according to Law; Hereof faile not, Given and
our hands & Seales this 11th. day of May in
the Sixth yeare of the Regine of our
