The Deposition of Margeret< no role > and wife of John Evans< no role > this 11th day of
Aug 1692

Who on oath Saith yt on ye 8th Instant being Monday Came one
Const & Mr Mary with a Warrant by wch they had apprehended this deponts
husband, and with my Consent Searched our Lodging Roome where ye said
Constable did Examin Such Trucks and Boxes as I opened with keys,
and in a Bagg in one of ye Drawers were bonds and parchemts Wrytings
& in a Little Purse Silver Mony to ye quantity of about £4 in old broad
Mony 37 [..] be in Crownes and half Crownes of Milled English Money
and in a Fob in ye said purse 4 Guineas of Gold, all wch was Numbard by ye
said Constable & by him Rturned againe to mee. (Except one Guinea) Mr
hee asked Mr Mary iff it was good who Likewise questioned itt, so yt
Every thing in our Lodging was Left in my possession according as
they found itt, The said suspected Tinneathe Constable Tooke with
him to the house where my husband was (being butt 2 doores of) and
there Mr Mary Looked on itt againe & Said itt had not been dyled, and it
was in my presence delivered unto my husband, who was then Carryed
before ye Recorder of London & in a Short time after, I had notice that
some men had been at our Lodgings Roome & broken open ye Doors & Also
ye Locks of ye Truncks & Sett a Watchman to Secure what was in ye Roome
for ye use of those as their Authority was derived from, And farther
saith that att her Rturne home she missed nothing of their goods but
found all ye Mony both Gold and Silver in a Trunck Drawer which the
Last Violent Searchers did not open.
