The Information of Mary Ann< no role > Pampe
of Brooks Gardens Tottenham Court Road taken
on Oath before one this 7th. day of August 1789.

Who being on Oath says that she lives with Samuel Rooke< no role >
a Mathematical Instrument maker in Brooks's Gardens Tottenham Court Road that Margaret Edwards< no role > has
lodged with her a fortnight that she came to her from Dr Chiddicks in Argyle
Street that about Nine oClock on Wednesday the twenty ninth of July
last said Edwards got up, and about Eleven went out to the Shoemaker
and returned in about an hour and an half when said Edwards asked
her if she had dined And upon Informant replying in the Affirmative
said Edwards Replied I am sorry for it, for I have run Ready to break
my Neck, that said Edwards said she had been no farther than the
Shoemakers and Informantthinking she had been drinking advised
her to lay down which she did and then Requested to have some porter
when Examinant order'd a Pint for her, and on her Return from the
Alehouse she found a Mob assembled round her door, and Crocker
the Constable standing at it, that when Edwards returned and before
she layed down no person was in the house but this Informant
her husband bring then at the door and going away, that said Edwards
had on the Gown now produced by James Boyd< no role > , at that time, that
she is very sure, the Gown now produced, is the property of said
Edwards, that at' the time said Edward, came into her house when
she layed down, nor at any time since, hath she seen any Gold, or Silver
Watch, in said Edwards Possession nor hath she been informed by any
person whatsoever, what said Edwards, hath done with Mr Fletchers
Watch
< no role > And further says to the best of this Informants knowledge and
belief the said Samuel Rooke< no role > with whom she lives never saw said Watch
nor had it in his possession that said Edwards lodges at Mrs Streets
No 28 James Street< no role > Mary bone
