Porter taken this twenty seventh day of August 1789 before me John Staples< no role >
Esquire one of his Majestys Justices of the Peace in and for the said County and
first the said Thomas Hart< no role > on his Oath saith that this day he hired the person
present who says his name is John Johnson< no role > to remove his Goods in a Cart
from Union Street Bishopsgate Street , to Church Lane aforesaid Saith that after the said John Johnson< no role >
delivered the Goods and was going away he searched his Hay Basket and found
there the two Mens Hats produced his property of the Value of Twenty Shillings

Thomas George< no role > on his Oath saith he was Employed by Mr. Hart to Assist
him in Removing his Goods saith he saw the said John Johnson< no role > take one of
the said Hats in the lastput it into the Hay Basket and Cover it over with
Hay when Informant told Mr. Hart what Johnson had done who Scarched the
Hay Basket and found there the two Hats produced
