The Information of Edward Willoughby< no role > servant to Mr. Rebecca Harrison< no role >
George Inn Yard borough of Southwark widow on his oath saith on Thursday
The 20th: of August 1789 he was ordered to carry a Box which came from Cranbrook
directed to Mr. Willis at Mr. Baleman No. 66 Shadwell That as he was going over
London Bridge between the hours of Two and three in the afternoon he was spoke to
by the person present Who says his name is Elizah Basset saying mind how you walk
as a person had broke his leg That he followed him to the pitching block at St. Magners
church and asked him where he was going says he told him he was going to Shadwell
Basset said he was going to Eastsmithfield and would shew him the stract road
that he went up Bottolph Lane Tower Street to the pitching block when Basset pulled
it down to look at the Direction and said it was No. 26 not 66 and left him and
soon after saw him again in company of a man in allice coat who appeared to
Lodge himSays being near the Coach stand in Rateliff highway came and a person Gentely dressed
asked him if the Box he had was not for Mr. Willis that he answered him
Yesthat said person then asked if he had not a Carravan box says he answered
nosays that went a little further to the paviours Arms when he asked him
to drinkandthat he helped him down with the said Box at the Door and called
for a pint of aleand bed him draw the Box into the parlour and as soon
as the ale was drinked he gave orders to the landlord to lit it abide until he called
for itSays he and said well dressed men came away to the Coach stand when
they were drove to the George in Mansel Street Goodmansfields That he was sent
by said man to fetch a Box from the George Inn in the Borough that he went and
was informed that he had been swindled

on his oath saith on Thursday last between 2 & 3 in the afternoon he saw Edward
Dilloughby
< no role > bring a Box into the said house with a person appearing to be a gentleman
had a pint of ale both went away leaving the said Box and in about Ten minutes
after the person present who the said Elizah Basset came and asked for a Glass of
brady and went out and in about Ten minutes he came again saying a Gentleman
had sent him for a Box that he was refused not being the person who brought it
unless he brought a not from the person who left it and went away and soon
after the person who came in which Edward Willoughby< no role > who brought the Box came and
demaned it and while they were talking Elizah Basset< no role > came in again and demanded
said Box when said person hecked [..] Baset and took the said Box away

Richard Nilles< no role > at Mr. Batemans Shadwell high Street Druggist on his oath
saith he lately received a Letter from his Brother Charles at Cranbrook< no role > that
he should send him a Bod with his cloaths That hearing the Box had been
taken from the person bringing the he wrote his Brother for the Contents which were
her Shirts One great Coat Two a pair of Breeches four Waistcoats Eight Stocks
one Muslin neckcloath Thirteen pari of Worsted and thread Stockings in pocket
handkerchiefs one Shaving box one Roader box and nuff a German flute and
life Two cases with Eight Lancets a Leather pouch< no role > with surgeons instruments
Three bound books Sundry unbound Books and other Articles of the Value
of six pounds
