The Information of Maria Brown< no role > of No. 5 in
Cecil Street in the Strand Widow and Hannah
Haram< no role > of the Same place Spinster Taken [..]
[..] before me this 22nd. day of July 1789

Who being upon Oath severally say and first the said Maria
Brown< no role > for herself saith that between the Hours of Five and Six
o'Clock in the afternoon of Monday last two [..] Men came to this Informants
house in Cecil Street to Enquire for Lodgings and one of them saidtheybe wanted
a first Floor for his Uncle who lived at Ealing, upon which she desired
said, Men to Walk up stairs, when upon turning round and seeing
but one of them with her she said I thought there was another
Gentleman with you, who replied there was and said Man then
called to his Companion to know if he was comming up who answered
I am comming Presently, but did not come up that after Informant
had shewed the appartments she returned down stairs following
the Man who had been up stairs with her, and when she came
to the foot of the stairs she saw the person who had remained below
standing at the first Parlour Door,to whom the person who had
see the [..] upon which they wished her a
good day and promised to call on he again at four o'Clock
the next afternoon [..] That upon a Side Board in the front
Parlour stood a Mahogany Case in which about an hour before
said Men came to her house were Five Silver Table Spoons
she having had occasion to Notice them at That Time, that soon
after said her had left the house, her Servant Hannah Haram< no role >
[..] told his Informant that the Spoons were gone from the
Case which upon Search the found to be trueAnd then Informant
further Saith that a person now present who calls himself
John Beale< no role > is one of the Two Persons who so came to her
house to Enquire for Lodgings and who remained below while
the other Man Viewed the Appartments and is the Man who
upon her return down Stairs she saw standing at the pont parlour
DoorAnd the said Hannah Haram< no role > pr herself saith that
she is Servant to the Informant Maria Brown< no role > , that on Monday
last between the Hours of Five and Six oClock in the afternoon
Two Men applied at her Mistresses house and Enquired for Lodgings
that she called her Mistresses to them and immediately went into the
Kitchen
