lodging at the Lion and
Cat in Carey Street Taylor is a very material
Witness for this Deponent on the Tryal of this
Indictment and that he cannot as he is advised and verily believes
Safely proceed to make his Defence to the Charge
therein alledged against him His Deponent without
the Benefit of the Testimony of the said John

him of saith that he went yesterday to the
Lodging of the said John Gregory< no role >
the Lion and
Cah aforesaid in order to serve him with a Copy
of a Writ of Subpana to appear and give
Evidence on the Tryal of this Indictment on behalf
of the abovenamed Prisoner and this Deponent was
then informed bythe PeopleMr. Padden the Landlord of the House that the

went to Ireland on Thursday
last and that he was expected to return home in
three Weeks or a Months time which Information this Deponant believes to be time And this Deponent

to be a material
