him are these the two Men to which he answered yest
bring them along that then they brought them to the
Yorkshire Gray Publick House Door when the Prisoner
William Green< no role > demanded his Coat in which the Piece of
Cloth now produced was wrapt upon which the said
Edward Edwards< no role > said you have stole this Cloth but he
said no I found it at the Corner of Red Lyon Street Holborn
however he and the other Watchman thought it most
proper to keep him secure and therefore they took him
to the Watchhouse

John Taylor< no role > for himself saith that being Constable
of the Night on Friday the Fifteenth Day of May
Instant the Prisoners William Green< no role > and Charles Pinckstone< no role >
were brought to the Watch House by Bartholemew
Grogan< no role > and Edward Edwards< no role > two Watchman about Twelve oClock charged
by them with having the piece of Cloth now produced
in their or one of their Custody which they wd. give no
Satisfactory Amount how they came by it and
they both appearing to be suspicions persons he thought
proper to detain them

John Thwaites< no role > of High Holborn Linnen Draper
for himself saith that having lost or Piece of Linnen
Cloth and being informed that there was a Piece of
Cloth found and two Persons were stopt upon
suspicion of having stole the same & were committed
for further Examination he applyed to the Publick
Office in Hyde Street Bloomsbury where the
Prisoners were to be examined and saith that
