The Information of William Connell< no role > of Leg
Alley
< no role > Long Acre< no role > and John Reynolds< no role > of the same
place taken on Oath before me this 29th. day
of April 1789.

Who being on Oath severally say and first the said William
Connell
< no role > for himself saith that he rents a two pair of Stairs Room in
the Dwelling House of the said John Reynolds< no role > that he went out from
thence about the Hour of Seven oClock this morning and secured the
door of his Apartment by Locking it: That on his return which was
about ten oClock he found the door very difficult to open owning to it's
being fastened in the inside andupon Informants endeavouring to
open the door the Prisoner who calls himself by the name of William
Brewer
< no role > rushed out and said to him: Your Chimney has been on fire
Informant replied how can that be when there is no Fire in the place
and Informant endeavoured to secure him but he being too Strong for
him he ran away and endeavoured to secrete himself in a Shoe makers
Shop in Long Acre where Informant pursued and took him And
then returned to his Apartment and found lying on the floor by the
Prisoners Soot Sack two black Stuff Gowns, one Linnen Gown one
Muslin [..] Handkerchief, one Linnen Bed Gown & other things this
Informants property which he had left hanging on a Line
Across the room And the said John Reynolds< no role > for himself saith that
on the Prisoner being brought to the Public-Office Bow Street he
searched him and in a pocket in the back part of his Breeches
he found the two Keys now produced.
