The several Informations of John Robins< no role >
and Joseph Abbott< no role > taken the Seventh day of
September 1787

Who upon their Oaths says and first the said John
Robbins< no role > for himself Saith That he lodges at the
House of Mr. Tanner in Whetstones park [..]
and about half past Twelve. o Clock on Tuesday Morning last he was
desired by Tanners Wife to go and of fetch him house
who was at a private House on Saffron hill That
this Informant Tanner and Two others Came out together
and Came thro the Turns tile and proceeding towards house
and just by Bleeding hear yard a Man Came up to
him (who is now in Custody and who says his Name
in Robert Chapman< no role > ) in Company with several other
persons and Knocked him down and Took his Hat
from off his head and a Cane which he had in his Land
belonging to Tanner and he ran away and Informant
Ran after his as far as Saffron hill and overtook
him and asked him for his property when Chapman
Damed him and Knockd him down again and the
others fell up on him with Sticks and Bludgeons and
Bruised him very much and then they all made their
Escape That about One o Clock the same Morning
the said Robert Chapman< no role > Came to Tanners House
to Excuse himself and asked Mr. Tanner if he
was hurt when Tanner secured him and gave
him into the Custody of the Watchman That he is guite
possitive Chapman was the person who first Assaulted
and Robbed him as aforesaid and the property has not been seen
by him since
