Edward Poole< no role > of Palsgrave Place in the Parish of
St Clement Danes in the County of Middlesex Gent
maketh Oath that Anthony Newman< no role > of Hammersmith
called upon this Deponent on Wednesday Morning last
between eight and nine o Clock and show'd this Deponent
a Letter which he said he had received that morning by the
Mail Coach from Oxford , The purport of which Letter
was to desire the said Anthony Newman< no role > 's immediate
attendance at Oxford, for a Person (who he the said
Anthony Newman< no role > told this Deponent was his Wife's Brother)
was Committed to the Castle at Oxford , and that the
Sessions was to be held there the nine Month instant the said
Anthony Newman< no role > also told Deponent that he was
Summoned upon the Jury at the Old Bailey to be these
at eight o Clock that morning but had been delay'd by
the receipt of the said Letter and was afraid he was
too late and what to do on that account he could
not tell this Deponent Observing the said Anthony
Newman
< no role > in much agitation and in disposed told him
to compose himself for if he was fined he this Deponent
would endeavour to get the Fine taken off
