James Whitaker< no role > for himself saith that at
this time he was coming along Hart Street ,
towards Bow Street , and hearing the cry of
"Stop Thief" apparently at the top of Bow Street
he saw two Men running towards him.
That said two Men made a halt at the corner
of Phenix Alley whom one of them turned
up Chanix Alley , and the other (whom this
Informant believes to be the Prisoner
Wheeler) ran along Hart Street and passed
this Informant on his Right, apparently
having one Hand in his Pocket or under his
Coat; and being pursued by a Number
of People was immediatly secured. That
after said Wheeler was secured, this
Informant found the Mock Watch and Chain
now produced on the foot Pavement in
Hart Street , between the place where the
Prisoner passed him, and the place whom
he was secured. And the said Alexander
Bryson< no role > for himself says That at this time,
he was at the top of the Playhouse Passage
going into Hart Street , and hearing the cry
of "Stop Thief" he ran into Hart Street , where
he saw the Prisoner Wheeler running on
the opposite side of Hart Street towards
James Street that he pursued said Wheeler,
who was stopped by two Men at the further
corner of Hart Street in James Street .
