The Information of John Hardy< no role > and Joseph
Simmonds
< no role > Servants to Joseph Capps< no role > of No.
35 Oxford Street Linen Draper taken before
me this 19th. day of February 1785

Who being upon Oath says that about four oClock
in the afternoon of Tuesday last a person now present who
calls herself Ann Mott< no role > came into their Shop and bought
seven Yards of Trish LinenThat from the length of time
she took in purchasing Linen and her different attitudes
whilst purchasing the same they Suspected her to have stolen
something out of the ShopThat when she went away
they pursued her a few Yards and took her into Custody and
on searching her found the Remnant of Linen now
produced which she had stolen out of the Shop
