The Information at Thomas Herpur< no role > one of
the Watchman of the Parish of St Mary Whitechapel
taken this third day of November 1784

who being on Oath saith that being on his Duty
in Wentworth Street in said Parish on Saturday Morning
the 30th of Sept out past between the hours of four and
five he saw the prisoner who says his name [..] is John Leaper< no role > passing a long he said Street with
a Bag on his Shoulder that said Informant challenge
him defranding what he had in said Bag who said
he had potatoes which he had just picked up
That suspecting him to had him to the Watchhouse
belonging to said Parish where on Examining the said Bagh
a found the same contained [..] about Twenty six pound Soap
[..] three other Begs which the same now produce
