Lewis Henry< no role > , Scipio Durowe< no role > the above named Defendant and
Robert Patten< no role > of Breams Buildings Chanceny Sone Gentleman
severally make Oath as follows And first this Deponent Lewis
Henry
< no role > Scipio Durowe< no role > for himself Saith that Elizabeth Jones< no role > who
was on the Twenty first day of November last a Servant and lived
at the Baynis known by the name of the Royal Hotel in Long Acre
is a very Material Witness for him this Deponent Lewis Henry< no role > Scipio
Durowe
< no role > on this Prosecution and without whose Testimony he this
Deponent is advised he cannot with safety take this Trial And this
Deponent Lewis Henry< no role > Scipio Durowe< no role > further Saith he hath caused a Subpoena to be issued out
for the said Elizabeth Jones< no role > in order to procure her attendance and give
Evidence on the part of this Deponent on the Trial of the above Indictment
And this Deponent Robert Patten< no role > for himself saith that he hath many times
attended at the Royal Hotel aforesaid, and particularly several times Yesterday
and once this Morning for the purpose and with intent to serve the said
Elizabeth Jones< no role > with the said Subpoena when he was informed by the Waiters
and Servants at the said Hotel that the said Elizabeth Jones< no role > was gone into
the Country at a considerable distance from London and would not return
until Wednesday Evening and which Information this Deponent doth verily
believe to be true And Castly this Deponent Robert Patter saith that
he will do his endeavour to serve the said Elizabeth Jones< no role > with a Copy
of the said Subpoena and that he hath no doubt but he shall be able to
procure her attendance to give Evidence on the part of the said Lewis Henry< no role >
Scipio Durowe< no role > on Thursday Morning next
