The Information of Peter Mettle Lewis Each mann
and Jacob Bunnett< no role > taken this 28th day of August
1784

Who being on their Oaths say And first the said Peter
Nettle
< no role > for himself saith That onWednTuesday last
being the 24th. day of August instant about or
between the hours of Nine and ten in the Evening as
he this Informant was passing along White Chapel
High Street near to the end of Castle Alley in the said
Street his Hat was Suddenly taken from off his
Head by a person who ran up the said Alley
and in about a Minutes time this Informants
Hat so taken from his Head as aforesaid was Brot. to him by the other Informant
James Bunnett wholikewise, with others had Apprehended
the Person present who calls himself Solomon Spencer< no role >

The said Lewis Eachman for himself saith that being
in Castle Alley about the time aforesaid he heard
the cry of Stop theif, and turning round said
the Presence Solomon Spencer< no role > running hastily
Along from the Street and seeing no other Person
Stopped him the said Solomon That the said
Solomon Exclaimed or said to this Informant "what
do You want with me I have got nothing upon
me" or words to that or the like & Feet that
the other Informant Jacob Bunnett & others came up and
& took the said Solomon Spencer< no role > into Custody

And the said Jacob Bunnett< no role > for himself saith
that he lives the Coroner at Castle Alley in White
Chapel High Street that at the time aforesaid
he saw the said Peter Nettle< no role > Pass by his Door
and saw his Bat taken from his Head by
somebody who ran down the Alley as aforesaid
that he this Informant immediately Ran down
the Alley and came up with the Person now
present who calls himself Solomon Spencer< no role > as
aforesaidwhoThat the said Solomon Spencer< no role > had
been Stopped by the said Lewis Eachman
that he this Informant also took hold of him
when he the said Solomon said " I have got Nothing upon me"
that he this Informant saw a Mans hat
lying very neartaken up from the Ground
