The Information of William Arthur< no role > Hyam Simon< no role > and Philip Myers< no role >
taken this 20th. day August 1784

Who being on their Oaths say And first the said William Arthur< no role >
for himself saith that he is a pauper in the Workhouse belonging
to the parish of Saint Ann Westminster That he wasthis dayYesterday sent
from the said Workhouse with a Bag containing Sunday
Shirtswiththat he was to carry the same to the House of David
Mc Collick
< no role > of Duckling Pond Lane [..] White Chapel Coal Meeter
That as he was carrying the said Bag near to the Royal Exchange
London he fell down that after he got up the person now present
who calls himself John Marriot< no role > overtook him and Offered to
carry his Bag for him as far as the London Hospital to which
this Informant Agreed. That as they were both walking along
the Street in White Chapel the said John Marriot< no role > Suddenly
Run off with said Bag up a Street into a place which
this Informant hath been told is called Goulston Square
& from [..] thence into a place called Castle Street and
[..] as he has also been told and there he this Informant & others
found him Secreted in a Yard under a Dray
and the bag laying near unto him which Bag and
property are now produced and contain Twenty
Nine Shirts.

The said Hyem Simon< no role > for himself saith that he saw
the said person who calls himself John Marriott< no role >
run thro' Goulston Square with a Bag and the
other Informant William Arthur< no role > pursuing him
that he this Informant and one Philip Myers followed
[..] him the said John Marriot< no role > into Castle
Street and there Apprehended him under a
Dray in a Brewhouse Yard That [..] the Bag now
Produced was lying near him

The said Philip Myers< no role > for himself saith that what
the Aforesaid Hyem Simon< no role > hath deposed is true
& That he this Informant took up the said Bag containing the
Shirts now produced and gave the same into
the care of the aforesaid
