The Information of Robert Cooper< no role > of Charles Street
Westminster Gentleman and Jane Gibbs< no role > of the same
place taken before me the 10th. day of October 1783.

Who being on Oath saith and first the said Robert Cooper< no role > for himself
saith that on Monday the 6th. Inst. he this Informant had the Keys of
a Chest of Drawens (in one of which Drawers was a Box that contained a
Quantity of Money also a Purse containing one hundred and Twenty Guineas
and several other Coins) from his Mother in Law Mrs. Gibbs, that a Person came
to the Door and asked for Informant and he this Informant went into the
passage and said about an hour talking with a friend and left a person
now present who calls herself Honer cullen, his Mother in Laws servant
in the Room, that he this Informant left the Keys in said Draws in which
the Money was deposited. That he this Informant saw the One hundred and
Twenty Guineas in the Draw the said day-That on wednesday the 8th. Inst.
this Informant went to said Draw and on Counting the Honey found that
Ten Guineas had been taken out of said Purse and Draw That Mrs. Gibbs his
Mother in Law on the Money being Missed challenged the said Honor Cullen< no role >
who confessed she had taken Money out of said Draw but did not know
how much. and the said Jane Gibbs< no role > for herself saith that she had
deposited in a Box in the same Draw about forty Guineas That she this
Informant saw the said forty Guineas on Monday the 6th. Instant. that on
Wednesday the 8th. Inst. on this Informants going to said Draw on taking up
the Box found it was very light and on Examining said Box found there had
been taken out of said Box Twenty Guineas on which this Informant challenge
her servant Honor Cullen< no role > who immediately confessed she had taken money
out of said Box but did not know how much but returned to this Informant
Eleven Guineas and a half and bigged this Informant not to have her taken
into custody.
