The Information of Thomas Dela Porte< no role > and Robert
Ratford

taken on Oath before me one of his Majestys Justices
of the Peace for the said County of Middlesex this 16th.
day of December 1782

This Informant Thomas Delaport on his Oath Saith TheThat
on Tuesday the Thirteenth day of August last between the Hours of
Eight and Nine o'Clock in the Evening as he was going from London to
Newington in the County of Middlesex by the Stage Coach That he rode
all the way on the Coach Box and between the Kings head and the Fox
on the same Road that Evening he was stopped on the Highway by
five People on foot who robbed him of about Three Guineas in
money And further Saith That he believes John Merchant< no role > the
prisoner now under Examination is one of the persons concerned in
Robbing him as aforesaid, and the said Robert Ratford< no role > Saith
That he is the driver of the said Coach and was riding therein
at the time that the said Coach was stopped and Robbedand Stoppedas aforesaid
and this Informant further says that he was Robbed by the said
Foot pads of Two Pounds one shilling and six pence and this Informant
verily believes and suspects that the said John Marchant< no role > is one
of the persons concerned in the above Robbery of this Deponent
and the said Thomas Dela Porte< no role >
