Who being upon Oath say, and first the said Robert Chilton< no role >
says, about half past one o'Clock on Thursday morning last as he was
passing by Whitehall
in his way to Cannon Row
aforesaid, a [..]
out upon him, knocked him down and robbed him of the Gold
Watch now produced and a purseAnd the said Joseph Wassell< no role >
says
that about 8 oClock on the said Thursday morning a person now present who
calls himself Thomas Claddenboul< no role >
came to this Informants Shop
in the Broad Sanctuary
aforesaid, and offered to this Informant
the said Gold Watch to pledge, saying at the same time, it was
a Metal oneThat suspecting he had not come Honesty by
the said Watch, he stopped the same and desired said Claddenboul
to bring some person to him, who was a House keeper, and who
could prove it was his WatchThat said Claddenboul went
away and returned in about half an hour bringing with him
a person now present who calls himself James Taylor< no role >
, who
told this Informant that he kept the Duck in Duck Land Westmin-
ster, that he well knew the said Claddenboul by his having used
his Housethat he knew said Claddenboul had a Watch at that
time by his lending Money on itThat at this time said Watch
was lying on the Compter and within the sight of said Taylor who
said that said Watch was Claddenbouls property
