7 August 1782

Who being on his Oath saith that on Tuesday the 30th. of July last Past
about the Hour of 5 in the afternoon he met with Thomas Field< no role > at his
House from where they both went to the Dukes head Public House on
Princess Street Westmr when they strind above an Hour during which time
a young Woman Possing by the Door Field ran out and called his in and told her
her was just going to her House, that soon after he went with Field to the lodging
of the said Young Woman whose Name in Margaret Jones< no role > that Field desired him
to go for a Pot of Beer which the said after finishing the first pot the Woman
went one of the Room on her Field asked him if he had any Property above
him to which he replied yes he had three Guineas. which he took out of his
Porters and head in his hand. which Field took one of his hand and were
out of the Room and Staid about half an Hour before he returned [..]
Fields above the Woman came into the Room and Stand on Fields when
he asked him for the money which Field desired having Received on which
some Wards ensued between them and the Woman said she would have no Noise
in her Room Ager won insisted on having Field Searched and as he was
going to the Window to sall for assistance the Woman hated him from it
and Struck him however an [..] being made and People coming to his
assistance he then went to the Door in order to the Room in but was [..] by
both of them and in hating him but got his [..] However the People
without Procured a Constable who with assistance broke the Door open and
when they entered the Room a Man Who saw the Woman [..] him told him
he was a Tool to suffer in a Watchman now came and Searched [..] during which
time the Woman went one of the Room and soon after [..] in a Different dress
and this Deponent doth Verily believes that both Field and Jones was ensured
in taking the money
