taken before me this 14th. day of September 1781
Who being upon Oath say and first the said John Williams< no role >
says
that as he was passing along the Strand
last Night about 11 oClock he was
accosted by a person now present who calls herself Ann Reed< no role >
who asked him
to give her something to Drink. That he went with her to the One
Bell in the Strand
where he went to Bed with her (at which tune
he had seven Guineas and some silver in his pocket) That about three
o Clock in the morning the said Solomon Greentree called him and
asked him if he had lost any thing that on searching his pockets he
missed five Guineas and is very sure the said Ann Recd robbed him
[..] same. The said Solomon Green Tree says that finding the said
[..] Recd wanted to lease the house and Suspecting her to have robbed
[..] said John Williams< no role >
he stopped her from going out of the house
[..] brought her back into the Roomto the
[..] in which she had left the
said Williams - And the said Patrick Mc. Manus for himself says
that he searched the said Ann Recd in St. Mary le Strand
Watchhouse
on her being brought there by the said John Williams< no role >
and found concealed
between the heel and sole of her shoes five Guineas now produced
