Middlesex to Wit


The Information of William Morgan< no role > taken before me this
19th. day of January 1781

Who being upon Oath says that on Monday Night last
he put three boxes and a band box into a Hackney Coach drove by
a person now present who calls himself Richard Hook< no role > in James Street
Oxford Street , That [..] one Howel a Young Woman and himself got into said Coach &
made form thence to Pall Mall where they both got out and
he took two of the said Boxes and the Band Box out of said Coach
That the said Richard Hook< no role > asked him whether the other box
was to come out or not to which this Informant replied it
was to remain in the Coach, and desired said Hook, at the same
time to take Care of it for that he should take it with him
to Arlington Street -Says that he took said two Boxes & she
Band Box to the House of Mr. Powel in Pased alley and on
finding Mr. Powel out, he returned with the said young Woman
to the said Coach which then stood the Corner of Pased Alley
That he then called another Coach, which came up and the
young Woman who was with him put in the Band Box Whilst this
Informant put in said Two Boxes-that the said Young Woman
then got in, and the Coach drove away-Says that he then
returned to the said Richard Hook< no role > 's Coach in which he had left the
other Box. that on said Hooks opening the Door of said Coach he
observed to this Informant that his Box was gone, and asked him
if he had not taken it away-this Informant told him he
had not taken it away, but had left it in his case on which
said Hook answered that some person must have opened the opposite
Coach Door as the Box was Stolen away-Says that from
