The Information of Elizabeth Crowd< no role > is of Chancery Lane
Spinster taken before me this 26th: day of January 1781

Who being Upon Oath says that on Wednesday Evening last
she got into the Hackney Coach No. 758 drove by a person now present
who calls himself Henry Able< no role > at the end of Black Swan Court in Saint
Pauls Church Yard-The before she got into his Coach she [..] desired
him to assist in putting [..] her Chest containing a Quantity of Wearing
Appaul into his said Coach, which he did and put her said Box
into the same-That she then desired him to desire her to Chancery
Lane and on her coming to her Master house in Chancery Lane she got
out of said Coach (at which time the said Henry Abel< no role > was got from
off his Coach Box) and was standing by the side of his said Coach
says that she went into the Passage of her said Master House
(leasing her Box in the said Coach) and as she verily believes both
the Coach Doors shut, and did not contain above two Minutes
in the Passage of the House-That she returned to the Coach with
intention of having her Box taken out and put into her Master house
and saw the said Henry Abel< no role > Still standing by the side of his
said Coach and on her looking into the Coach found that the said
Box was Stolen away-Says that from her hasing left the Coachman
Standing by this Coach, and on her return finding him in the same
situation and her having staid so short a time in her said
Masters hourd, that the said Abel must have seen the person who
Stole the same, as well as from other Circumstances she doth
verily believe and suspect that he the said Abel feloniously
Stole her said Box of Wearing Appeal
