Saith he was Called to the Deceased to Come and Bleed him
about Eight o'Clock yesterday MorningThat he found
the Deceased was DeadThat upon Informants saying
he was Dead Davis said he hoped not and Appeared to be
much TroubledThat Informant Opened a Vein and
got about half an Ounce of Blood This he did merely
to Satisfy themThat Informant asked how it
happened And was Informed Two of them had been
Fighting and that he Other had Hit the Deceased a Blow
on the side of his HeadThat he Examined the
Head of the Deceased And it appeared he had received
a Contusion under his right Ear And his Nose Bled a
littleThat Davis said he had a Letter to Shew that
the Black had sent him a Challenge to Fight him with Sword
and Pistol and Pulled a Letter out of his Pocket and
Desired Informant to Read itThat Informant said
he would not Read it And then he Davis put it in his Pocket again
Saith it is Informants Opinion that the said Contusion
under the Deceaseds right Ear was the Cause of his Death

Acknowledged the Day and
