on the Prosecution of Thos. Ludgate< no role > and Jno
Newton felony

The Deposition of Eden Fitness the Defendant in the above
Cause maketh Oath and saith that Daniel Margaret< no role >
of Ballersey Bargemaster, but now at Oxford as this
Defendant has heard and believes, as also John Loyd< no role > of
Oxford farmer are material witnesses for him this
Defendant in the above Cause, and that he cannot
Safely prowed to Tryal without the benefit of their Testimoney
and this Deponent further saith that on Saturday the N. Jont
Daniel Margaret< no role > came to See the Deft. in Tothill fields
Bridewell where this Defendt. Spoke with him, and Desired
his Attendance on the Tryal of the Defendant this Sessions to be
held at Justice Hall in the Old Bailey and that the said
Daniel Margaret< no role > held this Deponent he could not possibly attend
as he was going either the Monday or Tuesday after to
Oxford with his Barge for a Load of Corn,

Sworn at the Session House in the
Old Bailey this 17th. day of July 1772 }
