The King agst: John Langley< no role > and Thomas May< no role >
The King agst:Rowley As Receiver of Stolen Good

The Prisoners John Langley< no role > and Thomas May< no role > were lately
Committed to the County Goal of Surrey for Felony and Burglary
committed in the Dwelling House of Robert Grisewood< no role > in the Parish
of Carshalton in Surrey on Tuesday the 23d: Day of June last
between the House of One and two in the Morning & Stealing
Eight Sugar Loaves the Property of the said Mr. Grisewood< no role > also a
large Quantity of Linen Cloth of the Value of £50 and upwards
the Property of Thomas Blacklocks< no role > who lodged in Mr. Grisewoods
House that Night and are to take then Trials for the same at the
evening Assizes for Surrey.

The Prisoner Thomas May< no role > has been since admitted an
Evidence by Sir John Fielding< no role > who has Impeached several
others concerned with him and in particular that they sold part of
these Goods to oneRowley who lives at Chelsea , who
received the same knowing them to be Stolen and May has
confessed that Rowley absolutely furnished them with Instruments
to break open the House Upon which Rowley was apprehended
and carried before Sir John Fielding< no role > when he entered into a
Recognizance to appear at this Sessions at the Old Bailey to Answer &

We shall have full and possitive Proof to convict him in
Middlesex for this Offence but as the Principles cannot be tried
until the next Assizes for Surrey it will on that Account be
impossible to try him at this Sessions as the Receiver

Your are therefore Desired under these Circumstances to
move that Rowley the Receiver may be continued upon his
Recognizance until the next Sessions at the Old Bailey before
which time the Principals in Surrey will be tried.
