the Peace
for the said County
Who severally being upon Oath say and first
this Informant Robert Christie< no role >
for himself saith
that hethe servantkeeps a Book sellers
Shop adjoining to the half Moon alehouse the
Corner of half Moon Street Piccadilly
. that last
Night about Nine o'Clock he fastened up the
said Shop and then locked the Door & took the
Key with him when he fastened up the said
Shop he left thereinthe(among a great Number
of other Books) the thirteen Printed Books now
Produced that about Nine o'Clock this Morning
he came to the said Shop and found that it had
been broke uponthe Door having been forced Open
and the Watchman taking care of it who told him
that he found it broke Open about three o Clock
in the Morning Upon this Informant's examining
his said Shop he found that the said thirteen
Books together with a great Number of other
Books to the amount in Value of five Pounds
had been Stolen out of the said Shop
And this Informant John Odan< no role >
for himself
saith that he is a Watchman in Saint Giles
that about two o'Clock this Morning he Stopped
a person now present who calls himself Peter
Welch< no role >
with the thirteen Books now Produced
tied up in a Hand Kerchief which are Sworn
to be the Property of the other Informant Robert
Christie< no role >
And this Informant Henry Port for himself
saith that last Night about Six o'Clock that he
together with Peter Welch< no role >
& Wm. Thompson< no role >
met
at the Sign of the Green Man on Saffron Hill
& stayed
there till about 11 'o Clock Wm. Thompson had several
Chissel & other Tools which he told this Informant was
