The Information of Aaron Myers< no role > taken before
me this 15th day of July 1772 .

Who being upon Oath says that on Saturday last was fortnight between
6 and 7 o Clock in the evening three Persons now present who calls themselves
Francis Gore< no role > James Dempsey< no role > and John Devine< no role > came to this Informant in Dukes
Place and asked this Informant whether he would but a Gold Watch and a
Pinchbeck Watch< no role > with a Gold Deal plate or whether this Informant could
Inform them of any Person who would Bury them; Says the said John Devine< no role >
produced the Gold Watch and the said Francis Gore< no role > produced the Metal
Watch, that while this Informant and the said three Persons were conversing
together a Person now present who calls himself John Lyon< no role > came
past that the said John Lyon< no role > Stopt and asked this Informant what them
three Persons wanted that this Informant told said Lyons they had got
two Watches to Sell viz a Gold one, and a Pinchbeck one with a Gold Dial
plate, upon which the said Lyon desired this Informant to take the Two
Persons to an Alehouse who had the Watches and to keep the other out And
that he would follow them, Says he this Informant then took the said three
Persons to the Sign of the Crown in Camomile Street leading into Bishopgate
Street (expect the said James Dampsey< no role > who stood without the door) that the said Lyon
presently came into the said Public house after them that the said Lyon
then asked this Informant which of the said Two Persons had the Gold Watch
that this Informant answered it was the thin man (meaning the said John
Devine
< no role > ) that the said Lyon the called the said John Devine< no role > aside into another
Box and examined the said Gold Watch which the said John Devine< no role > produced that presen-
-tly after the said Lyon called the said Francis Gore< no role > who had the said Pinchbeck
Watch
< no role > and examined it also, that white the said Lyon was examining the said Watch
this Informant came forward and Stood by them that he heard the said Lyon say to
the said Francis Gore< no role > he would give them Six Guineas for both the
Watches that the said Francis Gore< no role > told the said Lyon he would have Six Guineas
and half for them upon which the said Lyon put them in this Pocket and desired
them to go home with him to his house and he would give them the Money upon
which the said three Personswent away with the said Lyon; that when
they were going away said Francis Gore< no role > desired this Informant to Sit Still in the said
Public House till they came back and gave this Informant Six pence to Pay
for two Pints of Beer which they had, Says he said sometime but they never returned
